A snub-nosed electric pickup truck is a thing of the future, but when is it right on the verge of becoming widely available? Canoo Auto Inc., an automotive start up located in Long Beach, California, has officially revealed their prototype vehicle — dubbed the Canoo Cruiser. According to the official webpage, pickup truck makes “a bold statement with its appearance and unique design.”

The Canoo electric pickup is the world’s first snub-nosed electric vehicle from a start up based in California. The day the rideable water jet pack will be available for purchase is still unknown, but it will have an online presence before then. It can reach speeds up to 50 miles per hour in just a few seconds and travel up to 60 miles on a single charge (under ideal conditions) over open roads.

Li “David” Pak-Tam, a Chinese investor, and German businessman David Stern provided the majority of the funding. Evelozcity changed its name to Canoo two years later in March. Shortly after, in September 2019, the company unveiled its first car prototype, the EV van Canoo.

Characteristics of automotive start up canoo snubnosed pickup

  • Canoo, a new Automotive Startup Canoo Snubnosed Pickup, has shown a small electric vehicle with an extendable six to eight-foot pickup bed.
  • The pickup will have a range of more than 200 miles and be available with any a twin- or rear-motor formation, with the former producing up to 600 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque.
  • In 2023, the pickup is expected to begin manufacturing. By that time, Canoo’s pickup will be in direct competition with a number of other electric pickups.

The California-based electric car start-up Canoo has added this snub-nosed pickup to its roster of upcoming electric vehicles. With a design like that of Canoo’s passenger van, the truck will have a range of more than 200 miles, as much as 600 horsepower, and 550 pound-feet of torque. A rear motor arrangement will also be available. With a 112.2-inch wheelbase, which is an inch shorter than the Tesla Model 3’s, and an general length of 184 inches, which is more than two feet shorter than the Ford Ranger truck, all of that power and range, as well as a full six- to eight-foot pickup bed, must fit into the vehicle.

The modularity of the new pickup is emphasised, and it seeks to optimise its usefulness. There are multiple concealed storage compartments, folding tables all around the vehicle, and exterior charging stations. Tony Aquila, executive chairman of Canoo, stated that the objective was to create something that was extremely functional and could also be customised in a video explaining the ins and outs.
